Born in Rincon, Puerto Rico, Roberto began his musical career at an early age at PS 57 in New York's Spanish Harlem. Fond of the arts and sciences, he was encouraged by his teachers in art and music...during a school talent show where he performed with other students, he was spotted by Helen Osborn of the CSS..his family was then contacted, given financial assistance, and Roberto was given classical & popular music voal coaching by professors Harry Valente & Abraham Noah..as he developed, Roberto became enamored of Phil Spector's music to the point of visiting him at his office penthouse on Manhattan's East Side..from there, Roberto was able to attend recording sessions with Phil, even becoming his coffee boy, and followed the Ronettes everywhere they went...after he moved to the Bronx, Roberto became interested in a latina singer by the name of Lucecita Benitez, who, coincidentally, was a friend's relative..the rest is history as Roberto became her fan club president, friend and number one admirer! He was even at the Ed Sullivan Theatre in NYC when she performed on Ed's show in November, 1970..Roberto currently has moved out from NYC and spends time between Canada and Los Angeles searching for work as an actor/singer. He has written a memoir, "The Chosen Journey", published by Trafford Publishing, and is available at Amazon.com, at Trafford Publishers.com and at major book retailers. he wants his friends, family and fans to know that he recently lost his older brother David, known as "DJ", and dedicates this book to his memory. Please click the link below if you want to review or purchase the book:
